and mark cafe
Located in Arashiyama Nakaoshitacho, and mark cafe serves espresso-based lattes, matcha drinks, and teas alongside baked treats like scones and muffins, available for dine-in or takeaway.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
When a stroll calls for a hot drink and a sweet bite, and mark cafe makes an easy stop near the foot of the bridge in Arashiyama. Though compact, the space accommodates both dine-in guests and takeaway orders, offering a convenient pause to rest tired feet after exploring the area.
Among the baked goods lined up along the counter, the scones are a particular draw. Served warm, options like the matcha scone have a light crumb that shines with simple accompaniments like cream and jam, letting their rustic flavors take center stage. For something equally easy to nibble on, a muffin makes another satisfying pairing.
To drink, the cafe covers the espresso classics, including Americanos, café lattes, and caramel mochas. Drinks can be tailored with an extra espresso shot, a swap to oat milk, or additions like whipped cream and flavored syrups. Non-coffee choices are just as thoughtfully considered, ranging from gently sweet matcha lattes to Earl Grey and an herbal blend of lemongrass and bergamot.
Open from 8:30 (9:15 on weekends) until evening, the cafe also accepts PayPay. Seating is limited, making it better suited for a brief pause than an extended stay, whether you choose to sip by the window and watch the view or grab a cup to go as you continue on your way.
